September 17th Appointments can start being made for October and November.

October 1, 2024 The program will begin taking applications for seniors, the disabled and families with children under the age of five years old. The program will also assist households with disconnect notices.

November 1, 2024. All other income eligible households may start applying

You will be required to show proof that you meet one of these qualifications.

At your application appointment, you MUST submit ALL required documentation.

  • Proof of gross income from all household members for the prior 30-day period beginning with the date of application.
  • Current, valid state ID or driver's license for everyone 18 and older living in the household. (must NOT be expired)
  • Proof of Social Security numbers or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) for all household members.Individuals without a SSN or ITIN can still apply and Sangamon County Community Resources will advise accordingly.
  • A copy of current heat and electric bills issued within the last 30 days.
  • A copy of rental agreement (if renting) showing that utilities are included, the monthly rental amount and landlord contact.
  • Other documents may be needed based on your household situation.If you have questions regarding this, please call our office.
